From Proto-Albanian *anTā, from Proto-Indo-European *h₂(o)nh₁- (“breath”). Close to Hittite [Term?] (/anza/, “desire”), Ancient Greek (Hes.) ἀντάς πνοάς (antás pnoás) and Old Norse andi (“spirit, soul”)[1]. Possibly related to ndiej.
