  1. (colloquial) a male friend, a buddy, a pal
    tiklīdz kuģis ostā, otrā dienā jau visi “čomiņi” lapāsas soon as the ship has entered the port (you can expect that) on the next day all the "fellows" will be gone[2]
    ar tēvu sapratāmies kā čomime and my father got along (alternatively "were on the same page") like good friends ~ buddies[3]
