Etymology
From đường + sá, from Proto-Vietic *k-raːʔ, from Proto-Mon-Khmer *kraʔ (“road, way”); cognate with Muong khá, Pacoh carna (through an infixed form), Chong /kraː/ and Proto-Palaungic *kraʔ. Sá is also fossilized in a few other words, such as sá cày.
