алдынғы
Bashkir
Etymology
From *aldïnqï (“front, located in the front”) (see the cognates below), from *aldïn (“in/from the front; before, ahead of time; first”) (see the cognates below), from Proto-Turkic *āl- (“front”).
Note that *aldïn is a specifically Karluk ablative form; its Kypchak analog is *aldan (see Bashkir алдан (aldan)). Thus, this entry term is probably a borrowing from Chagatai. The Chagatai form needs to be identified and cited to confirm this hypothesis.
Compare to Uzbek oldingi (“front, foremost; distinguished, outstanding”), Uyghur ئالدىنقى (aldinqi, “front, anterior, foremost”); Uzbek oldin (“before, in front, ahead of time”), Uyghur ئالدىن (aldin, “before, in front, ahead of time”).
