Cognate with Old Uyghur [script needed] (kečüg), [script needed] (kečig, “ford”); Tatar кичү (kiçü), Kazakh кешу (keşw), Kyrgyz кечүү (keçüü), Southern Altai кечӱ (kečü), Uzbek kechuv, kechik, Uyghur كېچىك (këchik), Khakas кичіг (kiçíg), Tuvan кежиг (käžïg, “ford”).
