Rutul
Etymology
A Turkic borrowing: compare Azerbaijani qovaq, Turkish kavak (“poplar”).[1] See also Lezgi къавах (q̄avaχ).
The supposed form kalax cited by Erckert is probably a typo. Note that he marks it as a Turkic borrowing like the other Caucasian forms with -v-, but unlike Lak кӏялахӏи (ḳjalaḥi).
