моң
Bashkir
Etymology
Cognate with Old Uyghur [script needed] (buŋ, “grief, sadness, sorrow”), Yakut муҥ (muŋ, “gried, sorrow; suffering”), Turkish bun (“grief, sorrow”), etc.
The sense "melody, tune" is paralleled in Tatar only. It is unclear if it comes from a separate etymon.
