From Proto-Slavic *паrоčьnъ(jь). Asynchronically analyzable as на (na) + рок (rok, “fate, destiny”). Compare Old Church Slavonic нарочьнъ (naročĭnŭ), Bulgarian нарочно (naročno), Polish naroczny.
