Etymology
From пыль (pylʹ, “dust”) + -е- (-e-) + -сос (-sos), combining form of соса́ть (sosátʹ, “to suck”). Calque of German Staubsauger.[1] First attested in 1907. Calqued also as пылевсасыватель (pylevsasyvatelʹ) (1914).[1]
