From Ottoman Turkish چارشاف‎ (çârşaf, bedsheet; large veil coveing the entire body), from چادر شب (çâdır-ı şeb), from Persian چادر شب (čâdar-e šab).

The meaning 'act in theater' is secondary to 'theater curtain'.
