Etymology

An old derivative of աղբ (ałb). The suffix -եւք (-ewkʿ) may be related to -ոյք (-oykʿ). The forms աղբիւսք (ałbiwskʿ), աղբիւս (ałbiws), աղբեւս (ałbews) were built post-classically by generalizing the accusative աղբեւս (ałbews) of աղբեւք (ałbewkʿ) and the accusative աղբիս (ałbis) of աղբիք (ałbikʿ).
