Etymology
According to J̌ahukyan, who develops the etymology proposed in Nor baṙgirkʿ haykazean lezui, from անդ (and, “cornfield, arable field”) + -ի (-i). For the structure he compares վայր (vayr, “field, uncultivated grounds”) → վայրի (vayri, “wild”).
