1. (archaic) group, pack, flock (of animals)

Some dictionaries, articles and textbooks claim without foundation that ճահուկ (čahuk) refers specifically to a group of foxes. A claim originally attributable to Gayayean.

A borrowing, but the source is unknown. J̌ahukyan compares Old Armenian ջոկ (ǰok) and Arabic جَوْقَة‎ (jawqa, “group of people”), both from the same Iranian source.
