From քամ (kʿam).

Verb

քամեմ (kʿamem)  (aorist indicative քամեցի)

  1. to press, to squeeze, to extract, to wring (the liquid)
  2. to strain, to filter
    հողմով քամելhołmov kʿamelto winnow
  3. to empty, to drain
    քամել զբաժակkʿamel zbažakto swallow up, to drain the cup
    քամել զբաժակ մինչեւ ցմրուրkʿamel zbažak minčʿew cʿmrurto drink the cup to the dregs, to swallow the pill
    քամել զամենայն մրուրս դառնութեան բաղդինkʿamel zamenayn mrurs daṙnutʿean bałdinto drain or exhaust the rigours of fate
    յինքն քամելyinkʿn kʿamelto suck, to imbibe, to draw in
  4. (figuratively) to exhaust, to drain, to use up, to empty
