Cognate to Akkadian 𒇷 (burāšu), Jewish Aramaic בְּרֹותָא (bərōṯā), בְּרָָתָא (bərāṯā), Classical Syriac ܒܪܘܬܐ (bərōṯā), all meaning cypresses.
