Etymology
Coined by Eliezer Ben-Yehuda from כרוב (“cabbage”) + -ית, under influence of Arabic قَرْنَبِيط (qarnabīṭ), which itself was derived from Ancient Greek κράμβη (krámbē, “cabbage”).
