Not from the root ح ك م (ḥ-k-m) because this root is else related to “deciding”, but here the meaning is outright abstract and imitates Classical Syriac ܚܶܟܡܬܳܐ (ḥeḵməṯā). Compare also Hebrew חָכְמָה (khokhmá, wisdom).
