From Middle Persian dlcyk' (darzīg, “tailor”). Ultimately from Proto-Iranian *darz- (“to attach, fasten; to load; to sew”).
Also from Iranian: Old Armenian դերձակ (derjak), post-classical դերձիկ (derjik), դերզիկ (derzik), Classical Syriac ܕܪܙܝܩܐ (darzīqā).
