قبا

Etymology

Reborrowed from Arabic قَبَاء (qabāʾ), from Middle Persian kpʾh (kabāh, garment, cloak). Ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *(s)kep- (to split, cut). Cognate to Central Kurdish کەوا (kewa, long garment open in front) and Khotanese [script needed] (khapa, dress). Perhaps cognate with Latin cappa (cape).
