لَهُ كُلُّ ٱلْمَجْدِ • (lahu kullu l-majdi)
- (Christianity) all glory be to him; an expression of praise commonly used after mentioning Christ
- اَلسَّيِّدُ ٱلْمَسِيحُ لَهُ كُلُّ ٱلْمَجْدِ أَمَرَنَا بِالسَّعْيِ وَراءَ ٱلْقَداسَةِ
- as-sayyidu l-masīḥu lahu kullu l-majdi ʾamaranā bi-s-saʿyi warāʾa l-qadāsati
- Christ, all glory be to him, has commanded us to strive for holiness.
Usage notes
- The Christian phrase is similar to—and to some degree possibly mirrors—certain Islamic expressions (compare “see also” below). It is not used with the same automaticity, however.
