Etymology

Inconspicuous, of a rare pattern yaKLīM – else found only in يَعْضِيد‎ (yaʿḍīd, “Launaea mucronata”) and يَعْقِيد‎ (yaʿqīd, “thickened honey”) – but connected to the root ق ط ن‎ (q-ṭ-n), so perhaps from a Semitic substrate.
