From Sauraseni Prakrit *𑀇𑀢𑁆𑀢𑀺𑀦 (*ittina), 𑀇𑀢𑁆𑀢𑀺𑀮 (ittila), ultimately from Sanskrit इयत्तक (iyattaká). Cognate with Punjabi ਇੰਨਾ (ennā), Gujarati એટલું (eṭalũ), Marathi इतके (itke).
