Etymology

From Magadhi Prakrit 𑀕𑀁𑀕𑀸 (gaṃgā), from Sanskrit গঙ্গা (gáṅgā, “the Ganga”). Cognate with Sylheti ꠉꠣꠋ (gang), Bengali গাঙ্গ (gaṅg).
