Borrowed from Pali siddhi (“happening, incidence, occurrence; fulfillment; success; etc”) or Sanskrit सिद्धि (siddhi, “fulfillment; success; etc”); perhaps via Old Khmer siddhi (“achievement, accomplishment, success; fulfillment; entitlement, title; ownership; etc”). Cognate with Modern Khmer សិទ្ធិ (sətthiʾ).
