Borrowed from Pali dosa (“defect; demerit; fault; flaw; mistake; offence; wrong”). Compare Modern Khmer ទោសៈ (toosaʾ, “anger; hatred; violence”). And Compare Sanskrit दोष (doṣa, “defect; demerit; fault; flaw; mistake; offence; wrong”), from which Thai โทษ (tôot, “penalty; punishment; etc”) was derived.
