თვალი

Georgian

Etymology

From Old Georgian თუალი (tuali), from Proto-Kartvelian *twal-. Cognate with Mingrelian თოლი (toli), Laz თოლი (toli) and Svan შდულ (šdul, embrasure, loophole). Klimov also lists Svan თე (te) and თერ (ter) as cognates, but others consider it a reflex of a different source.
