From Proto-Kartvelian *q̇war-. Cognate with Georgian სიყვარული (siq̇varuli) and Laz ოროფა (oropa) and possibly Svan ლილყუ̂ირ (lilq̇ûir) (otherwise, reconstruction belongs in the Proto-Georgian-Zan stage).
