Etymology
Wasei kango (和製漢語), orthographically borrowed from Japanese 動脈 (dōmyaku, “artery”), which was in turn a semantic readaptation of Chinese 動脈/动脉 (dòngmài, “one of the twenty-eight pulses in TCM”).
