       (だん) (こた)えて (いわ)進香 (ジンシアン) (こう) (こう) (きん)あり、 (したが)わう (もの) (こう)たり、 (したが)わざる (もの) () (こう)たり、とて使 () (しゃ) () () ()き、 (しゅん) (げん) ()をもて (しりぞ)く。
      Dan kotaete iwaku jinshian wa kōkō kin ari, shitagawau mono wa kō tari, shitagawazaru mono wa fukō tari, tote shisha no jibi o saki, shungen no go o mote shirizoku.
      Since jinxiang (offering incense) was forbidden by decree, those who obeyed were dutiful, those who disobeyed were faithless, and even the messenger's ears and nose would be cut, according to the strict reply.
