마파람
Korean
Etymology
Likely a compound from 맣 (*mah, “monsoon”, bound root only in Modern Korean) + 바람 (baram, “wind”). Due to a metathesis between the final ᄒ and the ᄇ, the initial segment of the word 바람 (baram) appears aspirated. The first element is also found in 장마 (jangma, “monsoon”).[1]
