Etymology
Cognate with Ancient Greek -αν- (-an-), which was often added simultaneously with a nasal infix, e.g. λιμπάνω (limpánō, “to be absent”).

Usage notes
A very productive suffix. Often used to remake already-existing verbs, as in անիծանեմ (anicanem), հարցանեմ (harcʿanem), լքանեմ (lkʿanem).
