-𐌱𐌰

Gothic
Etymology
Among the Germanic languages, the suffix is only found in Gothic. There have been attempts to link it to other Indo-European languages; Joseph (1982) suggests a link with Ancient Greek -φα (-pha), an adverbial suffix (found in e.g. μέσφα (méspha)), from a supposed Proto-Indo-European *-bʰeh₂. This etymology is incomplete. You can help Wiktionary by elaborating on the origins of this term.
