Etymology 1
By analogy with nomina gentilicia either of Oscan origin such as Pompēius (from 𐌐𐌖𐌌𐌐𐌄 (pumpe, “five”)) or of Etruscan origin such as perhaps Tarpēius or Tarpēia.[1]
