Kasten
German
Pronunciation
- IPA(key): /ˈkastn̩/
Etymology 1
From Middle High German kaste, from Old High German kasto.
Usage notes
- The normal plural is Kästen; the unchanged plural Kasten is now widely obsolete. (In the 19th century, however, the umlaut form was still deprecated as “wrong”, for example in Grimm's Deutsches Wörterbuch.)
