Lëps
See also: leps
Luxembourgish
Etymology
From Old High German lefs, from Proto-Germanic *lepuzaz. The consonantism -ps may be a simple phonetic simplification, or a blend with the northern form of the same root that led to German Lippe (from Proto-Germanic *lipjô). The dialectal border between both forms runs close to Luxembourg. Cognate with German Lefze (and Lippe).
Pronunciation
