Borrowed from Persian نستعلیق (nasta'liq), a compound of نسخ (nasx) (from Arabic نَسْخ (nasḵ, “transcription”)) and تعلیق (ta'liq) (from Arabic تَعْلِيق (taʿlīq, “hanging, suspension”)), name of two other styles.
