Etymology
From Proto-Indo-European *tregʰ- (“to run, walk”), apparently a variant of *dʰregʰ- (“to run”). Cognate with Gothic 𐌸𐍂𐌰𐌲𐌾𐌰𐌽 (þragjan, “to run”) and Serbo-Croatian trȃg (“trace”).[1]
