Etymology
From *nastijan (“to bind; fix”) + *-ilu, ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *neHd- (“to bind, press together”), see also Breton naskañ, English net, Latin nassa, Sanskrit नह्यते (nahyate, “to fasten, bind together”).[1]
