From Proto-Balto-Slavic *leˀi-.
Baltic cognates include Lithuanian líeti, Latvian liêt, Old Prussian pralieiton (“shed”).
Indo-European cognates include Ancient Greek λείβω (leíbō, “to shed, to pour”), Middle Welsh dillyd (“to pour out”).
