Baltic cognates include Old Prussian stallīt (“to stand”).
Indo-European cognates include Ancient Greek στέλλω (stéllō, “to prepare, equip, array, send”), Proto-Germanic *stallijaną (“to fix; set; place; position; put”), Old Latin stlatta (“genus navigii latum”).
