Likely cognate to Proto-Turkic *diāĺ (“stone”) (Turkish taş, Chuvash чул (čul, “stone”)) and Proto-Mongolic *cïlaxun (Mongolian чулуу (čuluu), Daur coloo). Another possible relation includes Korean 돌 (dol, “stone”).
