Proto-Turkic
Etymology
Those advocating for the largely discredited Altaic language family compare to Proto-Mongolic *üǯüɣür (“end, edge”) (Mongolian үжүүр (üžüür), Kalmyk үзүүр (üzüür)), Proto-Korean *učuk (“top of tree, upper branches”) (Korean 우죽 (ujuk)) and reconstruct Proto-Altaic *ū́č`i ("end, edge").
