Etymology

From Hokkien and Bisaya "intsik, gwakang kaon kalibang!", which was a line in an old derogatory visayan limerick that roughly translates to "Chinese (laborer), I work, eat and shit!". It might be a contraction from the first words of this line, "Intsik, gwakang..." which in old Philippine Hokkien vernacular might've been "𪜶叔,我工..." (in chek/chiak, góa kang...) which in a literal sense means "their/his uncle, I work...".
