See also the formations in Italian biancastro (whitish), nerastro (blackish), French blanchâtre (whitish), noirâtre (blackish) (with the suffixes -astro and -âtre deriving from Latin -astrum, accusative singular of -aster[2]). Compare also Italian albastrello.
