Etymology
From Proto-Albanian *baśkā, from Proto-Indo-European *bʰedh-sko (“bundle, heap”). Cognate to Ancient Macedonian βάσκιοι (baskioi, “fasces, bundle”), Ancient Greek φάσκωλος (pháskōlos, “leathern bag, sack”), Latin fascis (“band, bundle”) and Middle Irish basc (“collar, neck chain”).[1]
