Etymology
From Proto-Albanian *daknā, from Proto-Indo-European *denḱ- 'to bite'. Cognate to Ancient Greek δάκνω (dáknō, “to bite”) and Old High German zanga (“tongs”). Gegh formation danë with secondarily rhotacized nasal[1].
