Albanian
Etymology
From Proto-Albanian *gat-, from Proto-Indo-European *gwem- 'to go'. Cognate to Sanscrit गति (gáti-, “going, course”), Proto-Slavic *gatь (cf. Russian гать (gatʹ, “road of brushwood, weir”)). Related to ngas[1]. Compare also the related Romanian gata (“ready”), which is also an invariable adjective.
