From Basque guiristino, the Basque adaptation of the Spanish cristino, the term for the liberal forces in the Spanish Civil War, after the then Queen Cristina.

  2. (Spain) A foreign tourist, normally referring to fair-skinned tourist on package holidays on the Spanish Mediterranean coast from the mid-twentieth century.
