literatūra
Latvian
Usage notes
Literatūra has the broader meaning of "collection of written works" ("technical literature", "juridical literature", etc.); in the narrower sense of literature as art, i.e. fiction, the word daiļliteratūra is preferred. As for the term rakstniecība, it refers more properly to the activity of writing itself, i.e. the writer's craft.
