main pot (plural main pots)

  1. (poker) The pot that contains the chips bet and raised by each player, up to the same amount wagered by the player all-in with the least amount of chips. Further bets and raises form the side pot or side pots.
    Player A goes all-in with 300 chips. Player B raises, and goes all-in with 400 chips. Player C calls. Main pot = 900 chips (300 from each player). Side pot = 200 chips (the remaining 100 from players B and C).
